We want your Chez Castillon experience to be as easy and stress-free as possible, so on this page you’ll find all the detail you need. If it’s not there – just ask!
How much does it cost?
Courses vary, and the exact cost can be found beneath the detail on each course listing. A five day course(six nights) is generally priced at around £895. A retreat is £700.
What does that include?
Your accommodation and meals (breakfast and dinner), including wine, and lots of tea and coffee whenever you need it. On one evening each week dinner is not provided, leaving you free to explore the local restaurants. The price doesn’t include travel as our guests visit us from all over the world.
How will I get to you?
Most of our overseas guests fly to either Bordeaux or Bergerac, both of which are around 40 minutes from Chez Castillon. We can send an English-speaking taxi driver to collect you (this costs between 80 – 100 euros, but if there are other guests travelling at the same time it is often possible to share the costs) or we can help you make your way to us by train. We know that travelling alone can often be daunting, and we’re very happy to call or email you in advance to chat through any concerns you may have.
What do I need to bring?
To make it easier for those travelling with hand luggage only, we provide as much as possible for you! You’ll find a hairdryer, towels and a kaftan robe in your room, and shampoo and shower gel in your en-suite bathroom. We even have a collection of sun hats for guests to borrow, and masses of books in the library to read. There’s no pressure to dress for dinner – although you’re very welcome to – and no one will mind if you wear the same clothes every day! Bring a swim suit for the pool, but we’ll provide beach towels. The most important things to bring are those relating to your chosen activity: your laptop (with an adapter – we have a few if you forget!), pens, pencils and paper, and your brushes and preferred medium if you are coming to draw or paint.
